After a remarkable 25-year hiatus, Capcom's beloved role-playing game, Breath of Fire IV, has been resurrected for PC gamers. Initially launched on the PlayStation in Japan and North America in 2000, and in Europe a year later, the game saw a PC port in Europe and Japan in 2003. The narrative follows Ryu, a protagonist with the unique ability to transform into a dragon, who joins forces with other warriors to thwart an emperor's destructive ambitions.

As part of its ongoing Preservation Program, GOG has meticulously updated Breath of Fire IV to ensure it's fully compatible with modern PCs. This DRM-free release on the GOG platform brings numerous enhancements, including optimization for Windows 10 and 11, support for both English and Japanese languages, and upgraded graphics powered by an advanced DirectX renderer. Players can now enjoy new display options such as Windowed Mode, V-Sync, Anti-Aliasing, and refined gamma correction for superior visuals. Additionally, the audio engine has been overhauled, bringing back missing environmental sounds and introducing new configuration options to enrich the gaming experience.
