Call of Duty: Warzone Experiencing Lobby Crashing Issue
Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a permanent fix is still under development, developers have implemented a temporary solution.
The Problem: Players reported widespread game freezes and crashes while loading into matches, leading to frustration and undeserved penalties, including Skill Rating (SR) deductions and temporary match bans. This issue followed other recent setbacks, including a temporary server outage and ongoing concerns about cheating and bugs.
The Temporary Fix: In response to player complaints, Raven Software announced on January 9th that they have temporarily suspended SR penalties and timeouts for players disconnecting before joining Ranked matches. This addresses the unfair penalties caused by the loading screen crashes. Penalties for leaving matches mid-game remain in effect.
Ongoing Issues: The underlying cause of the loading screen crashes remains unaddressed. The bug persists despite a major game update in early January 2025. While the temporary penalty suspension offers some relief, players are still awaiting a complete resolution to prevent these crashes from occurring in the first place. The situation highlights the ongoing challenges faced by the development team in maintaining game stability and addressing persistent bugs.
