The Blood of Dawnwalker, new RPG from CD Projekt RED veterans, revealed
Rebel Wolves, a studio established by former CD Projekt RED developers, recently unveiled their debut title, The Blood of Dawnwalker, in a captivating livestream. The stream featured a four-minute cinematic trailer, serving as the game's opening narrative sequence, introducing a dark fantasy action RPG experience.
Set in a 14th-century alternate Europe, The Blood of Dawnwalker follows Coen, a young man who acquires supernatural abilities after the events depicted in the trailer. His mission: rescue his loved ones from a vampire threat within a strict 30-day timeframe. While time progresses selectively during gameplay, strategic time management is crucial.
Coen faces a critical moral choice: embrace his humanity or succumb to his vampiric nature. This decision significantly impacts both gameplay mechanics and the narrative's trajectory. A core gameplay element is "Blood Hunger." Prolonged abstinence from blood threatens Coen's control, potentially leading to accidental killings and unforeseen consequences.
Players will explore richly detailed environments, with dynamic changes influenced by the time of day. The developers describe the game world as a "narrative sandbox," offering extensive freedom and opportunities for player agency.
Developed over two years using Unreal Engine 5, The Blood of Dawnwalker is slated for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. A release date has yet to be announced.
