Blizzard was selling skin in Overwatch 2, but announced a free giveaway 24 hours later
Blizzard is once again at the heart of an Overwatch 2 controversy. The studio sold the Cyber DJ Lucio skin for $19.99, only to reveal a day later that it would be available for free to Twitch viewers watching a February 12th livestream for one hour. This sparked outrage among players who had already purchased the skin.

This isn't the first time Blizzard has faced backlash for selling cosmetic items and later offering them for free through promotions. Players are demanding refunds, citing unfair practices. While the Cyber DJ skin has been removed from the store, Blizzard has yet to address refund requests.
Adding to Blizzard's challenges, Marvel Rivals is significantly outperforming Overwatch 2. In response, Blizzard announced a special Overwatch 2 Spotlight event on February 12th, promising revolutionary gameplay changes. The event will unveil new maps, heroes, and other content, with popular streamers invited to Blizzard headquarters for an early preview.
