The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of game design, from core mechanics and progression systems to combat and mission structure. Experience in diverse genres, including third-person action, open-world adventures, and melee-focused combat, is highly desirable. This has fueled speculation about a potential return to the Batman franchise, the series that propelled Rocksteady to prominence.

The requirements closely mirror the design of the acclaimed Batman: Arkham trilogy, unlike the more gunplay-centric Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

As the hiring process is still in its early stages, the game is likely in the conceptual phase. Industry expert Jason Schreier suggests that, should a new single-player Batman title be developed, a release wouldn't be expected for several years.
