Bam Margera, the iconic former professional skateboarder and Jackass star, is set to make a surprising return to the world of video games. Despite initial reports excluding him from the roster of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 skaters returning in the upcoming Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, recent developments suggest otherwise. Skateboarding media veteran Roger Bagley revealed during a members-only livestream of The Nine Club skateboarding podcast (via Video Games Chronicle) that Margera will indeed be part of the final game.

According to Bagley, the game was "already done" when Tony Hawk himself stepped in, contacting Activision to request Margera's inclusion. Despite being initially told it was impossible, Hawk's persistence paid off, showcasing the legend's dedication to his fellow skaters. IGN has reached out to Activision for further comment on this development.

Margera's journey has been tumultuous, marked by well-documented struggles with alcohol and substance abuse, including multiple rehab visits. His firing from Jackass Forever and the subsequent restraining order granted to director Jeff Tremaine due to alleged threats further highlight the challenges he has faced. However, a recent video shared by Hawk and Margera skateboarding together reignited hopes and speculation about Margera's return to the gaming scene.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, announced earlier this month, is slated for release on July 11, 2025. The game will be available across multiple platforms, including PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Developed by Iron Galaxy, the project has overcome significant hurdles, including its near cancellation following Activision's merger of the previous series developer, Vicarious Visions, with Blizzard.
