Larian Studios announced a January stress test for Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8 via a Steam post. This test, accessible via Steam (PC), Xbox, and PlayStation consoles, aims to rigorously identify and address any instability or gameplay issues before the official release. Mac and GOG users will not have access to this test. Registration is currently open.

The stress test will heavily focus on cross-platform play, a significant undertaking for a game of Baldur's Gate 3's scale. Larian encourages players to participate and report any problems encountered. Players are invited to recruit friends or find groups via the Larian Studios Discord server for collaborative testing.

While Patch 8 marks the final major update, Larian reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the game's modding community. Substantial future updates are planned, enhancing modding tools to empower players in crafting their own narratives. The official mod tools, released in September, have already seen over 70 million module downloads and over 3,000 mod uploads.
