Multiple Twitch streams showcasing the game have also emerged, though they are being swiftly removed, according to VGC. Ubisoft has been contacted for comment by IGN.

This leak presents a significant challenge for Ubisoft, a company already facing considerable pressure surrounding the game's development. Despite the setbacks, Ubisoft has previously asserted strong preorder numbers for Assassin's Creed Shadows, comparing them favorably to Assassin's Creed Odyssey. CEO Yves Guillemot emphasized positive early previews highlighting the narrative, immersive experience, and dual protagonist approach. He praised the development team's dedication to delivering the franchise's "most ambitious entry yet."

The game's journey to release has been fraught with delays. Initially planned for November, it was postponed to February 14th and subsequently to its current March 20th launch date.
