Alienware's Area-51 Now Supports RTX 5090 Graphics Card

Dell has recently revitalized the iconic Alienware Area-51 lineup of prebuilt gaming PCs, and now there's an exciting update: you can configure your system with not just the RTX 5080, but also the cutting-edge Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 GPU. Starting at $5,499.99, this powerful configuration also includes the new Intel Core Ultra 9 285K CPU. The best part? You won't have to wait long to get your hands on this beast, as Dell estimates an early April ship date.

Priced at $5,499.99 at Alienware, the base configuration of the Alienware Area-51 with the RTX 5090 GPU is anything but basic. It comes loaded with an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K CPU, 32GB of DDR5-6400MHz RAM, and a spacious 2TB NVMe SSD. The Core Ultra 9 285K, Intel's latest flagship, delivers exceptional performance for both gaming and workstation tasks. While it doesn't quite surpass the i9-14900K as hoped, it's currently the best Intel has to offer. A robust 360mm all-in-one liquid cooler keeps the processor cool, and a 1,500W 80Plus Platinum-rated power supply ensures ample power for your system.

New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis

Dell unveiled the revamped Alienware Area-51 at CES 2025, featuring a chassis with aesthetic and cooling upgrades. The new design retains a similar look to the 2024 R16 system but includes significant enhancements. The I/O panel is now at the top of the case, and the tempered glass window covers the entire side panel, eliminating the need for side vents. Air intakes have been strategically placed at the bottom and front for improved airflow, resulting in a cleaner interior. The system also boasts an updated motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply to support the latest CPUs and GPUs.

The RTX 5090 Is the Most Powerful Graphics Card Ever

----------------------------------------------------

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 stands out as the most powerful consumer GPU available. Despite Nvidia's focus on software enhancements, AI features, and DLSS 4 technology, the RTX 5090 still offers a 25%-30% performance boost over the RTX 4090 in terms of raw raster performance. It also comes with 32GB of faster GDDR7 VRAM compared to the 4090's 24GB GDDR6. However, finding this GPU at its retail price is challenging, with eBay listings reaching $3,500-$4,000.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 FE Review by Jackie Thomas

"The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has taken the performance crown from the RTX 4090, albeit with a smaller generational uplift than we've seen in the past. For traditional gaming without AI enhancements, the performance gains are modest. However, in games that support DLSS 4, the performance leap is significant, albeit with 75% of frames being AI-generated."
