The update's centerpiece is the S-Grade Modifier, Verthandi, a light-attribute melee fighter with three distinct combat styles. Players can adapt her abilities for defensive counterattacks, high burst damage, or sustained DPS, offering versatile gameplay options. Verthandi's backstory, revealed through hyperspace experiments, adds depth to her character and motivates her protective nature.

"Echoes on the Way Back" also introduces new Ultimate Skillchain Mechanics. These include powerful combos like "Light the Path: Phantasmal Dawn" (Hera & Verthandi) and "Thunder in the Hills: Roaring Thunder" (Thor & Shu). A new Sigil, "Cycle of Time," provides ATK boosts, Mod Index Multiplier increases, and Crit DMG buffs under specific conditions. The 5-star Functor, Elf – Geironul, further enhances Verthandi's damage output.
