Krafton has taken a significant step to distance themselves from Ironmace Studios and their ongoing legal disputes with Nexon by rebranding Dark and Darker Mobile to Abyss of Dungeons. This change primarily affects the game's name, with few, if any, alterations to the core gameplay mechanics.

For those unfamiliar with the situation, Ironmace Studios is currently entangled in a legal battle with Nexon, who alleges that Ironmace misused trade secrets. Nexon claims that Ironmace, founded by former Nexon employees, utilized assets and ideas developed during their time at Nexon to create Dark and Darker. The lawsuit remains unresolved, and as previously reported in February, there were indications that Dark and Darker Mobile would undergo a name change. This has now been confirmed with the new title, Abyss of Dungeons.

No DifferenceThe rebranding to Abyss of Dungeons does not signal any significant changes to the game's core mechanics. Dark and Darker Mobile had already introduced notable deviations, such as a third-person perspective and other modifications, but fans can rest assured that the gameplay remains largely unchanged.

While this development may disappoint some Ironmace enthusiasts, there is hope that the legal issues will be resolved soon, allowing fans to enjoy Abyss of Dungeons alongside the main PC version of Dark and Darker. An upcoming soft launch is scheduled for June 11th in Brazil, Thailand, Indonesia, and Mexico.
