Following the news that Deadlock would shift away from its bi-weekly update schedule, many anticipated a comprehensive patch. However, Valve opted for a more relaxed approach to kick off the year.

The latest patch focused solely on one hero: Yamato, who received a minor nerf. This included a reduction in damage scaling and a decreased attack speed bonus at the first level of Shadow Transformation. Additionally, abilities such as Frenzy, Berserker, and Restorative Shot were weakened, while Alchemical Fire underwent a slight rework.

Given the size of this patch, it's likely that we'll have to wait for a more substantial update. However, predicting when that will happen is currently challenging.

It's important to mention that Deadlock has experienced a notable decline in its player base recently. This could be attributed to the popularity of Marvel Rivals, which has captured the attention of many gamers. Nevertheless, for a game still in deep beta, maintaining a consistent online player count of 7,000 to 19,000 is a respectable achievement. It's also worth noting that Valve has not yet disclosed any potential release dates or specifics regarding the game's monetization model.
