Koikoi is a traditional Japanese card game played with Hanafuda (flower cards). It's a game of strategy and luck, often enjoyed during festive occasions or casual gatherings.
How to Play Koikoi
Players take turns throwing cards onto the table. If the card you play matches the month of any card already on the table, you can collect those cards.
The objective is to form a "Yaku" (a scoring hand) by collecting specific combinations of cards. Once a Yaku is achieved, you have the option to either end the round and claim your points or continue playing ("Koi-Koi") to try for a higher score.
If both players are unable to form a valid scoring hand, the round ends in a draw and no points are awarded.
The game continues until one player reaches a total of 12 points. The player with the most points at that point is declared the winner.
