Score Sheet Scanner for Digitizing Chess Games
Effortlessly Scan Your Score Sheets to Digitize Your Games
Our innovative score sheet scanner transforms your physical chess game records into digital format with ease. Once scanned, the text is extracted from your score sheet to generate the game, providing you with a comprehensive overview that displays the score sheet alongside the generated moves. If the scanner misreads any moves, you can easily correct them with our intuitive move suggestion feature.
After digitizing your game, you have multiple options: categorize it into a tournament, analyze it on platforms like Lichess or Chess.com, or export it as a PGN file for further use.
Effortless Scanning of Score Sheets
You can capture score sheets using our built-in scanner or select them from your gallery. The app efficiently extracts the game data from the image, supporting score sheets for both White and Black players. This feature is especially useful for tournament directors as it allows for the consideration of both players' versions when generating the game. You can specify up to two score sheets per player.
Generate Your Game Seamlessly
Once your score sheets are scanned, you can immediately generate the game. Alternatively, you can manually overlay the move grid for more precise control.
Supported Notations
Our scanner supports a variety of chess notations, ensuring compatibility with different languages:
- English: N/B/R/Q/K
- German: S/L/T/D/K
- Dutch: P/L/T/D/K
- Spanish / Italian: C/A/T/D/R
- French: C/F/T/D/R
- Portuguese: C/B/T/D/R
- Czech / Slovak: J/S/V/D/K
While other notations can be specified, please note that text recognition may be less accurate if they differ significantly from the supported models.
Efficient Game Generation
To generate the game, your score sheets are sent to our servers. The time taken depends on factors like the legibility of the score sheet, the length of the game, and your internet connection, typically ranging between 1 and 10 seconds.
Detailed Overview of the Generated Game
The overview displays the score sheet columns alongside the generated moves, with background colors indicating the confidence level of each move. Tapping on a move navigates you to the corresponding chess position, where you can also view suggested move alternatives.
Correcting Misrecognized Moves
If the scanner misrecognizes any moves, our move suggestion feature allows for quick and easy corrections. Suggestions are ordered by probability and can be filtered by the piece to be moved. After making changes, you can regenerate the game from the current move.
Handling Crossed-Out or Missing Moves
Don’t worry about crossed-out or forgotten moves on your score sheet. In the game overview, you can skip or insert moves and then regenerate the game with your adjustments.
Enhancing Game Data
You can enrich your game records by adding player and tournament data, as well as providing additional information through a description field.
Comprehensive Game Overview and Filtering
Our app offers an overall view of all your entered games, allowing you to filter them by tournament, round, and favorites. A search field is also available for filtering games by players or game descriptions.
Exporting Games (Premium Feature)
Filtered games or individual games can be exported as PGN files. In the settings, you can customize what data is included in the PGN file, such as tournament details, round, date, and more.
Importing Games
You can import additional games into the app using PGN files.
Analyzing Games (Premium Feature)
To delve deeper into your games, you can open them directly on Lichess and Chess.com for analysis.
Premium Features
Please note that exporting games and analyzing them on external platforms are premium features.
