Discover the power of audio-visual lessons for evangelism and foundational Bible teaching with our comprehensive app, designed to enhance Sunday School education. Developed from the Sunday School Lessons by the AIC Sunday School Committee in Juba, Southern Sudan, and adapted for broader use by Global Recordings Network Australia with permission from the Africa Inland Church, Sudan, this app is a vital tool for young teachers and educators seeking to enrich their teaching methods.
The app's lessons are specifically crafted to complement the audio-visual picture books provided by Global Recordings Network, responding directly to the needs of young educators tasked with teaching in Sunday School settings. These visual aids are crucial for engaging young learners, making the lessons more impactful and memorable.
App Features:
- 226 Bible lessons spread across 9 books, offering a rich repository of teachings.
- Based on the acclaimed Good News and Look, Listen, and Live audio-visual programs by Global Recordings Network, accessible via the 5fish app.
- Convenient title search functionality to quickly find the lesson you need.
- Detailed teacher instructions for each lesson, ensuring clarity and ease of preparation.
- Option to play English audio recordings for each lesson story, aiding in comprehension and engagement.
- Visual display of pictures for each lesson story, enhancing the learning experience.
- Offline capability for most features, allowing use without internet access (except for audio).
This app focuses solely on the lesson segment of the Sunday School, with each session designed to last approximately twenty minutes. Other aspects such as singing, prayer, Bible reading, quizzes, and additional activities are left for the teachers to organize. We suggest concluding each lesson with a brief prayer and a song that ties back to the week's teaching. The lessons cater to children aged 7 to 12, aiming to cover a diverse age range effectively.
Initially, teachers manually transcribed each lesson into an exercise book weekly, keeping the lessons concise yet comprehensive. While some lessons have been expanded, the core intent remains to provide a brief outline for teachers to elaborate on during their preparation.
Each lesson begins with an aim that guides its teaching focus. Given the young audience, it's important to concentrate on one or two key truths per lesson, allowing children to gradually build their understanding of God. The lessons are designed to be a supportive tool for teachers, acting as a 'walking stick' rather than a 'pair of crutches', encouraging interactive and dynamic teaching methods.
