Harrison Ford remains unfazed by the critical and commercial underperformance of "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny," casually remarking, "s**t happens." He revealed his decision to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) was driven by a desire for a "good time."

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal Magazine, the Star Wars icon acknowledged his belief in a compelling narrative for a fifth Indiana Jones installment. Despite the film's negative critical reception and estimated $100 million loss, Ford expressed no regrets.

"When [Indy] had faced the consequences of his life, I wanted another chance to dust him off, to see what happened, even with diminished vigor," Ford explained. "I'm still glad I made the movie."

This latest venture hasn't deterred him from embracing another iconic franchise. Ford's MCU debut in "Captain America: Brave New World" sees him stepping into the shoes of the late William Hurt as Thaddeus Ross, a character significantly expanded in this film as the Red Hulk.

Ford clarified that his MCU involvement predated knowledge of this transformation. He hadn't even seen a script before signing on, drawn in by the prospect of enjoyment.

"Why not? I'd seen enough Marvel films to know admired actors were having fun," Ford stated. "I didn't know I'd become the Red Hulk. It's like life; you only get so far before the instructions are incomplete."

"Captain America: Brave New World," slated for a February 14th release, is one of the MCU's shortest films to date. Anthony Mackie takes the lead as Captain America, succeeding Chris Evans. The film also promises to introduce deep-cut Marvel characters, including a payoff to a long-standing tease from "The Incredible Hulk" with the arrival of The Leader.
